Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake Gets Shiny Foil Cover, But Not Everywhere

Nintendo showed off a special foil-stamped cover for the Ocarina of Time remake's physical edition, but it seems limited to Western regions—Asia and Japan may miss out.
Nintendo just dropped a new video showing off something pretty slick: the special foil-stamped packaging for the physical edition of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake. And yeah, it's as shiny as it sounds.
The game will come in two physical flavors—a standard cover and a limited special edition with that fancy foil texture. From the footage, the cover art catches the light differently depending on the angle you're looking at, giving it a unique reflective pop. It's the kind of thing that looks great on a shelf and even better in person.
But here's the catch: Nintendo says this version is only available while supplies last. So if you've got your eye on it, you might want to move fast. No restocks promised, no second chances—just that classic limited-run pressure.
Now for the frustrating part. According to third-party online retail channels, only the North American and European versions of the physical edition are confirmed to use this special foil process. The Asian version reportedly won't include the design, and the Japanese release also lacks the foil effect. So if you're outside those Western regions, you might be out of luck on the shiny cover.
The game itself launches on November 5, 2026. That's still a bit of a wait, but at least there's plenty of time to figure out which version you want—and whether you'll need to import to get the one with the fancy foil.
What do you think? Is the special foil cover enough to make you double-dip or import a copy, or are you fine with the standard edition? Let us know in the comments.
