Nintendo's Switch 2 First-Party Lineup Is Absolutely Stacked This Year
Ocarina of Time Remake scores a 96 on Metacritic as Nintendo rolls out Fire Emblem and Pokemon hits โ fans are calling this year's lineup a dream.
Nintendo fans, take a moment. This year's first-party lineup is looking absolutely wild, and the reviews are backing it up.
The big one: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake has officially had its review embargo lifted, and it landed a massive 96 on Metacritic. Multiple outlets handed out high praise, giving Nintendo one seriously shiny report card. If you were on the fence about this one, that score probably just pushed you off it.
But here's the thing โ it's not just Zelda carrying the year. New entries in the Fire Emblem and Pokemon series have also rolled out, and plenty of them are pulling seriously high review scores too. Big release after big release, and players are straight-up saying Nintendo is on fire this year.
That said, the conversation isn't all hype. Some fans are pointing out that if a few of these titles had been shifted to last year's schedule, Nintendo's overall reputation might look even better. It's a fair thought โ spreading the love a little could've smoothed out the release calendar.
And of course, the comment sections are already dreaming about what's next. Plenty of players are hoping a brand-new Mario game โ the red cap himself โ is waiting in the wings. You can't blame them; it's been a minute since we've had a fresh mainline Mario adventure to obsess over.
So what do you think? Is Nintendo's lineup this year heavy enough to call it a dream run, or are you still waiting on that one announcement to seal the deal? Drop your take in the comments โ we're all ears.
