GTA 6's Sweat System Revealed: Jason and Lucia Really Work Up a Glow

Bloomberg's Jason Schreier says GTA 6 features a realistic sweating system where Jason and Lucia perspire based on physical activity, plus weight gain and dynamic weather.
Just when you thought Rockstar couldn't cram any more detail into GTA 6, Bloomberg's Jason Schreier has dropped another batch of juicy tidbits. And this one's a little sweaty.
According to Schreier, GTA 6 features a surprisingly realistic sweating system. Your characters, Jason and Lucia, will actually perspire based on how physically active they are. Hit the club and dance your heart out as Lucia, and she'll work up more of a glow than if she just stood around looking cool. It's the kind of tiny touch that makes you realize just how obsessive Rockstar is being this time around.
But sweat is only one drop in the ocean. Schreier also mentioned that the game includes a character weight-gain mechanic, a dynamic weather system, and animal models detailed right down to the scales. The iguanas, apparently, have scale detail so fine it already sparked plenty of chatter in the player community.
Together, these systems help justify Rockstar's claim that GTA 6 will have the "most realistic open world ever." They also go some way toward explaining why the game has been delayed multiple times. Word is that Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick isn't exactly thrilled about the wait either.
Oh, and here's a fun one: Schreier confirmed that GTA 6's open world was originally planned to be even bigger. The initial vision reportedly covered North and South America, but the scope was scaled back during development. Even so, the final density of detail is still something you rarely see in a AAA release.
So yeah, expect a world where your character sweats through a dance floor, packs on a few pounds, and watches the weather shift in real time. If that's not next-gen, we don't know what is.
What detail are you most hyped to see in action? Let us know in the comments.
