GTA 6 Map Size Officially Revealed: As Big as GTA 4, GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 Combined
According to an EDGE magazine interview with Rockstar, GTA 6's Leonida map is roughly twice the size of GTA 5, with land area almost equal to GTA 4, GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 combined.
Get ready to clear your schedule, because GTA 6's map is absolutely massive. In a new interview with EDGE magazine, Rockstar has finally revealed just how big the state of Leonida really is, and the numbers are wild.
According to the report, the map in GTA 6 is roughly twice the size of GTA 5's. But it gets even better: Rockstar says the entire landmass, including Vice City and the surrounding areas, is almost equal to the combined playable map area of GTA 4, GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2. Let that sink in for a second.
The state of Leonida is described as incredibly vast, and as you explore deeper, you'll quickly realize just how huge it is. Of course, measuring an open world purely by square footage is becoming more and more outdated—what matters is how that space is used. But even so, that exaggerated number is enough to get any open-world fan excited.
Rockstar hasn't shared more specifics yet, but this tidbit alone has our minds racing. Imagine cruising through Vice City's neon streets, then hitting the open road and realizing the wilderness stretches on for miles. If the studio can fill that space with the kind of detail we've come to expect, we're in for something special.
We'll keep an eye out for more GTA 6 news as it drops. In the meantime, what do you think of this map size? Are you hyped for a Leonida that big, or worried it might be too much? Let us know in the comments!
