Gamescom ONL 2026: Biggest Trailers and Announcements

From Gears of War: E-Day to Worms: Galactic Tactics, here are all the biggest reveals from Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026.

Gamescom Opening Night Live just wrapped up, and wow, what a show! Geoff Keighley's second big event of the year didn't disappoint, bringing a flood of new game reveals, gameplay deep-dives, and some seriously hype trailers. Missed the action? No worries—we've got you covered with all the biggest announcements.

First up, the pre-show kicked things off with a bang: Worms: Galactic Tactics. It's taking a page from the XCOM playbook, giving the classic franchise a tactical makeover. And if that wasn't enough, it looks like the original Worms might be making a comeback too. Talk about a nostalgia trip!

Then came Train Sim World 7, rolling into stations on September 15. If you're into realistic train sims, this next chapter is probably already on your radar. And for all you theme park tycoons out there, RollerCoaster Tycoon Wonderworks is heading into early access soon. Think you've got what it takes to build the ultimate park? Time to put your skills to the test.

But wait, there's more! Aniimo's new trailer showed off adorable critters battling it out, including a titanic dragon that looks straight out of a Pokémon showdown. Meanwhile, Genigods: Nezha is an action-RPG rooted in ancient Chinese mythology, where you play as the Spirit Pearl, created by the Goddess Nüwa, taking on colossal monsters. And if horror's your thing, Perceptum is coming in 2027 to give you all the bumps in the night you could want.

One of the coolest surprises? Mariachi Legends—a Mexican vampire metroidvania that's hitting all the right notes. It's coming in April 2027, and honestly, it's the kind of genre mashup I didn't know I needed. Also, Elta: Defy All Gods is shaping up to be a brawler with an adorable dragon-god companion and fluid platforming. Keep an eye on that one.

For the strategy lovers, Humankind 2 is on the way, aiming to improve the 4X formula while forcing you to deal with climate change consequences. And Rainbow Six Tactics is the first new Rainbow Six game in years—think XCOM meets Siege, with 15 unique Operators and missions across the globe. It's out in 2027.

Oh, and let's not forget the big guns. Gears of War: E-Day dropped a new story trailer after that fun multiplayer beta, showing humanity's darkest hour on Emergence Day. Plus, Onimusha: Way of the Sword just got more content in its free demo, so if you haven't tried it yet, now's the time. And HoYoverse's new game, Nodusfall, looks like it's taking on Elden Ring with a gorgeous high-fantasy co-op adventure.
