The news comes straight from the game's official Japanese account, which teased the collaboration with a very on-brand message: "The battle of humanity continues in the fog." That fog, of course, is Dead by Daylight's signature hunting ground. The themed collection is set to launch on October 6, with Japan getting it a day later on October 7.

Before the big reveal, the Dead by Daylight social accounts had already sent fans into a frenzy. A mysterious teaser dropped featuring what looked like the Angelic script — the iconic language from the NieR universe. Naturally, players immediately started asking the big questions: Is this a NieR crossover? Is 2B coming to Dead by Daylight? The official account even posted a follow-up image saying, "Our communications appear to have been intercepted. Please await further instructions." Talk about a tease.

For those who somehow haven't played it, Dead by Daylight is an asymmetric horror game where one killer hunts four survivors. Survivors need to repair generators and escape, while the killer uses unique powers to track them down. It's a formula that's welcomed a ton of crossovers over the years, including Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Tokyo Ghoul, and Hellraiser.
