Control: Resonance Wins PlayStation Players' Choice Over Marvel's Wolverine

Remedy's Control: Resonance took the September PlayStation Players' Choice crown, beating Dune: Awakening, NBA 2K27 and Sony's own Marvel's Wolverine.
Well, that's a surprise. PlayStation Blog just dropped the results of September's Players' Choice poll, and Remedy Entertainment's Control: Resonance walked away with the win — beating out Dune: Awakening, NBA 2K27 and Sony's own big exclusive, Marvel's Wolverine.
If you had that on your bingo card, congratulations. A third-party title taking down a first-party PlayStation heavyweight is no small thing, and it says a lot about how players felt about Remedy's latest.
The official announcement didn't hold back on the congratulations either. "Your votes said it all — Control: Resonance takes September's Players' Choice. Congrats to Remedy Entertainment!" the post read. PlayStation also invited fans to drop their predictions for October's winner in the comments.
If you're not familiar with how this works, the Players' Choice poll opens at the end of every month. Players vote for their favorite new release of that month, with the candidate list hand-picked by the PlayStation Blog editorial team from the month's biggest launches. The rules are pretty straightforward: only brand-new games or full remakes qualify — your standard remasters don't make the cut.
That context makes this result even more interesting. When a Sony exclusive like Marvel's Wolverine can't seal the deal, it's a pretty clear sign that Remedy's new project is hitting exactly the right notes with players.
So what's next? October could bring another dark horse, and honestly, that's the fun part of these monthly votes — you never quite know who's going to come out on top. Control: Resonance is available on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
What do you think — did Control: Resonance deserve the win, or were you rooting for Marvel's Wolverine? And more importantly, who's your pick for October? Let us know in the comments.
